Your point makes more than enough sense. We agree, actually, that bias is probably never going to be removed from the recruitment process, or any process with that.
We wrote a new post recently: https://www.coburgbanks.co.uk/blog/attracting-staff/artificial-intelligence-in-recruitment/ which is about how AI is possibly hindering recruitment, but that’s not going to change since we can’t stop the evolution of AI.
It would be interesting to know whether there are things that can be done to prevent bias… But then as we state in that blog above, wouldn’t the bot then just be running off the opinion of whoever programmed it?
