I definitely learned very quickly that a CV can say all of the right things, but you really don’t know anything until you’ve had that conversation.

Conversely, a CV can say all of the wrong things (in the wrong way), but still be worth following up. I’ve trusted my gut and called candidates a fair few times, even though their CVs weren’t “up to scratch” and been really pleasantly surprised.

We can’t all be CV-writing geniuses!

Can’t say we’ve used automated online interviews before! But I’ll take your word for it; it’s definitely something worth considering.
